From the climate and topography, to the people and neighborhoods, the San Francisco Bay Area is one of the greatest and most diverse places to live in America,” say Josh Hohman. “Diversity is just as prevalent in the motivations of home buyers and sellers. Discovering the unique motivations of each of my clients and alleviating their stress is really the essence of my business.”
Josh approaches each transaction with the client’s perspective at the forefront of each and every decision of buying or selling a home – all with a style that shifts stress away from his clients by keeping his clients well-informed and educated, communicating expectations, foreseeing obstacles, eliminating surprises and preparing for appropriate action.
“Whether the client is buying or selling, investing or remodeling, their vision and goals continually inform their decisions – and my representation,” Josh says. “I have experience sitting on both sides of the table. I know really deeply what buyers and sellers need, the issues that both parties have to deal with, and I respect the importance of each choice they have to make. If I can help to simplify those choices, I’ve helped the client have a better experience.”
Josh earned undergraduate degrees in Economics and Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Missouri – Columbia, respectively. Josh then completed graduate studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business – earning his MBA.
“My past experience working as a project manager for a large Bay Area home-builder, and later as a self-employed real estate developer are very, very important in today’s real estate climate,” Josh adds. “This difficult market climate calls for an analytical and creative approach to marketing and thinking out of the box. Traditional methods of selling a house are no longer enough, and buyers want to make sure they are getting the best deal possible. Marketing and negotiation savvy are the two most critical ingredients for success in this market – which, of course means helping the client reach their goals.”
While real estate is a fulfilling career, the love of Josh’s life is his wife, Julia, and their daughter, Ella. Josh is an active tennis player and golfer, though, Josh says, “Most of my exercise comes from playing with my daughter at the park. My family provides me with a better perspective to understand the motivations of buyers and sellers of real estate, most notably school, neighborhoods and community activities.”
